Subtle Smile Alignment With Invisalign

Invisalign clear aligners offer discreet, effective orthodontic treatment. Dr. Evan Feichter of Harrison Dental Group explains how these customized trays move teeth gradually and are nearly invisible compared to metal braces. We love helping our patients get confident smiles without the hassle.

Invisalign Clear Aligners
in Action

The design of Invisalign is simple yet effective. It employs a series of removable clear aligners to gently and discreetly fit over your teeth. Once you finish with one set, you can move on to the next. Best of all, unlike with braces, your clear aligners will complete your treatment without any visible wires or brackets.

Invisalign Gives You More Than a Beautiful Smile

The Health Benefits of Clear Orthodontics

By now, you have heard about the beautiful aesthetic upgrade you can achieve by undergoing Invisalign treatment at our Fort Wayne, IN, practice. But it is important to understand that a straighter smile is also far easier to maintain through brushing and flossing. Properly spaced teeth provide fewer places for bacteria and debris to collect, which can help you avoid the need for treatment of decay, infection, and gum disease. A properly aligned bite can also help relieve symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder

Are There Certain Factors That Can Stop Me from Qualifying for Invisalign?

Yes, there can be. Although Invisalign clear aligners can treat most cases of misalignment, this treatment is not right for every patient. If you suffer from more severe malocclusion, Invisalign aligners may not be effective. In these cases, we may refer you to a trusted orthodontist who can treat more complex bites with traditional braces.

During your smile assessment at one of our Fort Wayne, IN, offices, we can evaluate your bite to determine the best orthodontic treatment for your needs. You can rest assured that we will fully assess your case before promising any treatment or results, giving you care that you can genuinely depend on.

Advanced Tools

to Plan Your New Smile

At Harrison Dental Group, we want to make orthodontic treatment safe and efficient for all of our patients.

Our offices are equipped with digital X-rays and intraoral cameras to plan treatment more quickly and efficiently than ever before. These diagnostic tools help us understand your smile and its needs while exposing you to the least amount of radiation possible.

We also use a 3D scanner to capture digital impressions of your teeth and generate a smile preview at your consultation, so you can see what your smile may look like after Invisalign treatment before any trays are made.

Once we gather precise images of your teeth, we can send them to the Invisalign lab. There, they'll create your customized clear aligners.

The Invisalign Treatment Timeline in 5 Steps:

In most cases, our patients can reach their final results in 12–18 months. Wondering what to expect during your treatment plan? We'll go through the general details.

Consultation

One of our dentists will evaluate your smile and determine whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign clear aligners or traditional orthodontics.

Planning

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses custom-made clear aligners to readjust your bite. In order to create your aligners, our Fort Wayne practice will use digital scanning to take exceptionally precise impressions of your bite.

Fabrication

Your images are then sent to the Invisalign laboratory for fabrication. Invisalign uses patented SmartTrack® aligner technology to get the best possible results.

Begin Treatment

You will need to wear your trays for 20–22 hours each day. About every two weeks, you will switch into a new set of aligners. Each set of trays is specially designed to gradually move your teeth into alignment. You will check in with us about every six weeks.

Final Visit

The quality of your results matters to us, which is why our dentists will examine your smile before officially ending treatment. Once you have finished with Invisalign, we will instruct you on retainer use that can keep your teeth in their new positions.

How To Maintain Your New Smile After Invisalign

When you reach your desired results, you will continue to wear your last set of aligners or a custom-made retainer every night. These orthodontic appliances prevent your teeth from shifting out of place and help you maintain your newly straightened smile.

A straighter smile can improve your oral health, but you will need to do your part by continuing to brush and floss regularly. You should also visit one of our Fort Wayne offices every six months so that our dentists can help you maintain a healthy smile for life.

FAQ About Invisalign in Fort Wayne, IN

Do I need to talk to an orthodontist if I want Invisalign?

No, you do not. Although many orthodontists provide Invisalign, general dentists like Dr. Keith Harrison are also qualified to prescribe this treatment. In fact, Dr. Harrison is a Preferred Provider, meaning he oversees more than 50 Invisalign cases a year.

Why choose a dentist over an orthodontist?

Another advantage of choosing Harrison Dental instead of seeing an orthodontist is that we can provide complete continuity of care, from general checkups and Invisalign to cosmetic and restorative care. However, if your case is especially complex, we can refer you to an orthodontist.

I used to wear traditional braces, but now my teeth have shifted out of place. Can Invisalign help?

Possibly! The best way to determine if Invisalign is the right solution is to schedule a consultation. Dr. Harrison will examine your smile and only recommend clear aligners if they can meet your needs and goals.

I lost my clear aligners. What do I do now?

Don't panic. We'll prepare you for this by explaining the solution in advance. Our Fort Wayne dentists will ask you to hold onto your aligners until your treatment is coomplete. That way, you can just pop in your most recent aligners.

Worried About Your Health?

/

We can help with that, too. Before your treatment, we will first make sure your mouth is healthy. Because our Fort Wayne dentists have a different areas of expertise, we can provide general and restorative dental treatments to improve your oral function and wellness before Invisalign. Options include dental crowns, fillings, and root canal therapy.
